My Skin Care Journey Since I was 14!

I have always been interested in skin care regimes. I remember when I was a teenager and could not completely afford high end skin care lines, I used to go to the kitchen and invent my own masks after loads and loads of researches on the material I was using and their benefits and vitamine contents for the skin.

I had some allergies and reactions towards some of the fruits and vegetables I used to use.I used to ask mom to get me lotions and care creams snd all that good jazz. BTW I love you mom :D you have gone through alot with me :D

Anyway, now that I am looking back for these days I realize how concerned I was and still am towards my skin.

When I started working and finally started to afford the creams I need. I started my trial and error journey, either with face creams, eye creams, serums, clarisonic, exfoliates, masks, face wash and toners!

Yup I tried them all :D

So to wrap up my journey, I will write it in points:

First of all you may want to know that I have normal to dry skin. Sometimes my skin produces little oil in my T zone

1- Cleansing the face

Always!!! Twice a day. Once waking up and before going to bed. Always search for the formula that has no soap in it as soap tend to be harsh on the skin. I do not have a favorite as all face washes are the same as long as they are soap free. I am currently using La Roch facial wash for dry skin.

2- Cleansing Face with Clarisonic:

I started using Clarisonic since 3-4 years ago, for almost everyday. I had no problem to it whatsoever. I had some blemishes when first time using it but they were gone normally. I use normal or radiance brush head. lately I started using it every two to three nights as I read once a blog about Clarisonic effect on making pores larger especially when using Retin-A creams or other peeling or exfoliating creams. I did not notice a difference in my pores through the years but it is always better safe than sorry.
I usually wash my face with warm water, use little facial wash on my fingers to get off the excess makeup so the brush head does not stain then I apply little amount of facial wash on the brush and starts cleaning.

3- Toning the Face:

You may want to know that using toners does not benefit your face directly, it only neutralize the PH of the face to accept the creams or serums more efficiently. In my opinion you do not have to spend alot of $$ for toners. When I am  out of toners I use organic rose water instead. It does the same.
Toners I used: Mario Bedescu, L'Oreal, L'Occitane, Boots..

4- Serums:

Here comes the equations. Serums are divided into two groups. Either very efficient or very bad. I spend $$ on serums that were totally not worth it.  Serums are important as they are intensive care for the skin needs. Always go for Vitamin C & E serums. They are light weight and could be used underneath makeup and they are very intensive in content which helps producing collagen in the skin.
Serums I used: Micheal Todd, Origins, perriconMD, Sanitas . I do not recall the rest

5- Moisturizers:

All moisturizers I ever tried were somehow good. Some of them delivered more efficient results than the others. I moisturized with creams and oils. I hated the Argan Oil for moisturizing. Actually I prefer creams more. They stick to the skin and does not run over your eyeballs. Always Avoid creams with collagen as they are expensive and has no effect in reproducing collagen in the skin or filling any wrinkles. Always look for creams with Pep-tide Collagen as the molecular of collagen is big and does not penetrate to the skin, Pep-Tide Collagen, however, are small moleculars that penetrate to the skin easily. You can always go for Vitamin C creams as they are the best in moisturizing and renewing facial cells. Avoid using Creams with Vitamin A also known as Retin-A creams when exposing to the sun as this may leav black spots on the face.
Creams that I used: Mario Bedescu, Micheal Todd, Sanitas, Origins, Clarins, Dior, PerriconMD, La Roch, Bioderma, clinique, Orogold Line

6- Eye Creams:

Never go easy on eye creams! You always want to use eye creams. Especially if you are a makeup girl or you live in dry climate or you use the computer alot or you do not drink enough water. Eyes have the ability to fool people and think that you are older than your real age if you do not take care of them. Their kin is very delicate and they have wrinkles fast. Not to mention the dark eye circles and  puffiness. As I said earlier always go for vitamin C creams and the ones that has Pep-Tide collagen. if you are in the 20's like me always use Hydrating eye cream in the morning and Anti-Aging eye cream before bed.
Eye Creams that I used: Mario Bedescu, Micheal Todd, Sanitas, Origins, Clarins, Dior, PerriconMD, La Roch

7- Masks:

Well, They are good if you have the luxury of paying more to afford them. However they are not a must. Always consider organic alternatives when it comes to masks. Your Kitchen is full of ingredients you could use to produce a healthy mask with many nutrients packed in. I usually use mask Twice a week
Masks I used:Glam Glow, Origins, I do not remember the rest :D

8- Sunscreens:

A MUST! I can't go through the importance of using sunscreens as it will take 100 years of writing! Always use sunscreens to avoid early ageing and black spots.
Suncreens I used: Neutrogena, La Roch

9-Neck Creams:

Always use you facial cream on your neck and upper cleavage. It does he job. No need to get a cream for neck area unless you can afford it.
Neck creams I uses: Mario Bedescu

I believe that is what I have for now.

Until Next Time...
Have a great Life...
